Here are some pictures of what students are doing in my social skills class! In the first picture, students had to create a "House of Cards" with a partner. Then, the whole group had to connect the houses using cards in a 3D way.

In the second picture, students worked together to create a "Marshmallow Launcher" that would launch marshmallows from a desk and down the hall. Students did a really great job with this! I've included a picture of one of the very successful lauchers that launched its marshmallows 33 feet!

My reading class is currently reading Holes. In the book, sneakers play a big part in the main character's life. My students had to draw pictures of their own shoes and give it life using personification to tell a story about their shoe. Here is the picture of the bulletin board and an example of one of the great shoes the kids drew!

Here are the last of the structures from my science classes. These are from my 3rd period science class, and BOTH structures survived the "earthquake" test!! All 3 classes did a FANTASTIC job! They really in some hard work and it paid off!

Here are the final products of period 1's earthquake proof structures! Both survived the test!!

Here are the final products of the "Earthquake Proof Structures" that my period 4 science class created! Both were AWESOME structures. One did break (more because of technical difficulties with the earthquake simulator), but I'm confident that without the difficulties BOTH structures would have survived! Great job to both of those groups!! More pictures are to come for the process of my period 1 and period 3 classes who have just begun building their structures.
